This is what I think is working
We had another good day out on the field. It was a fantastic batting, bowling and fielding (what else) performance by Dakus. Inserted first, Dakus didn’t have a good start, 4 down for under 20 but that meant we were going to see one of the best batting displays ever by Dakus. Prateek and Raghu both played superb innings, most of the time you couldn’t differentiate who of the two was batting. Sensible batting with each ball being treated based upon its merit has a nice monotonicity about it. It’s a great equalizer. Differences between players blur gradually when they bat in this fashion. Styles become less apparent. It also helped that both Raghu and Prateek are almost same height. They never allowed the panic to set in.
Gentlemen, you have been witnessing a very refreshing changeĀ in Dakus attitude over the past few months. They’ve started to enjoy “the moments” in the game. While batting, the emphasis has been on treating the ball on its merit. While bowling, it’s been one ball at a time. And People have been attentive during fielding and looks like they’re enjoying it too. Our bowling had always been one of the most fearsome and suddenly the batting looks right on the way to catch up.
